oh christmas tree..

its finally christmas time! my favorite time of the year. and since there is a serious lack of snow (not that i'm complaining) we decided we needed to bring the christmas spirit to our apartment. so we headed off to the good ol' walmart for a few essentials. lets be honest i HATE walmart with a passion that burns so bright, but we're poor so i got over it.we got our tree at a cute tree lot and it smells amazing! since our apartment is so small you can smell the tree throughout and now the place just reeks of christmas joy. and yes he's sawing in the middle of our family room.

we invited our good friends lee sara and kaity over to help us with the festivities. we listened to christmas music (courtesy of jules) and put lights and decorations on our beloved tree.
lee is shy
it beautiful isn't it. i couldn't get a good picture of it in all its glory but it is still a work of art. we put a few ornaments on the tree that we've had since we were kids and it added a really nice personal touch.
i also finally had something to fill my cute vases i got from my wedding. hurray for christmas.
i love this time of year. i have watched elf like five times already. god bless everyone. even the weird guy who lives below us who is out smoking in the wee hours of the morning. visual? quasimodo in sweat pants on a cell phone circling the parking lot... and smoking of course. or the guy who lives across the street from us who was handcuffed and taken to jail. merry christmas handcuffed guy. and merry christmas to all of you. :)
First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookie-dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle.

Remember when we used to sit in your living room with just the tree lights on and talk about Christmas? Those were good times.
